Texas Hot Sauce Festival 2019

The Texas Hot Sauce Festival celebrates its 20th Anniversary at Bayou City Event Center Sep. 21 & 22. The popular food festival marks two decades of “bringing the heat” with new ownership, production team and a commitment to honor the tradition and history of the festival, with plans to expand it well into the future, for as long as Texans love hot sauce.

The Texas Hot Sauce Festival has celebrates, brings together, and serves up the endless combinations of spice, flavor, and heat that lift Southwest cuisine on angel wings and devil horns! “Chili-heads” will enjoy hot sauce, salsa, chips, dips, peppers, spices, marinades, rubs, jams/jelly, pickled products, condiments, soup mixes, chili mixes, wing sauces; chunky, spicy, smooth, garlicky, sweet, fruity, peppery, smoky, from hot to mild to REALLY HOT!

The theme, “20 Years and Hotter than Ever!” is fitting. Thousands of attendees will sample hundreds of products from award winning chefs and vendors from as far away as California, Arizona, Ohio, Louisiana, and Florida – even Alaska.  While hot sauce and the food that goes with it the best are the main focus, there will be plenty of other food for all tastes, with a variety and quality fitting for Houston’s diverse population and “Foodie” culture, and there will be plenty of cold drinks to cool the heat. Continuous live music provides the soundtrack of good times with great food and friends with specialty entertainment acts and contests.  The “Chile-dren’s Area” provides fun for the mini chileheads, while Arts & Crafts vendors offer unique souvenirs and complete the festival atmosphere in the beautiful and conveniently located Bayou City Event Center.

After 20 years, festival founder Carol Borge is passing the fiery torch to new owner, Houston businessman R. D. Yoder. “I am pleased to announce the sale of the Texas Hot Sauce Festival to R.D. Yoder,” says Borge. “I have known R.D. for years and know that he/they will continue with the same passion for bringing everything HOT & SPICY to Houston!  Here’s to another 20 fiery years!”
